This year, the festival is introducing some exciting additions that will enhance the experience for attendees and volunteers.
The festival is delighted to announce the return of the second sauna, offering attendees even more opportunities to kick back and relax. The beach is larger than ever after the river’s annual flooding, providing ample space for fun, dancing, lounging and endless enjoyment in the sun.
R&S is delighted to announce we have partnered with Damascus Restaurant as our exclusive volunteer food partner and sponsor.
As a remote venue with limited power and service, it’s always been a struggle to ensure our staff and volunteers are well-fed during the festival,” said Abigail Cassio, executive director of the festival. “Damascus was such a huge hit last year as a vendor, and I am excited to work with them to provide their delicious and hearty food.”

Damascus will be supplying delicious cuisine for staff, volunteers and artists throughout the event. They will also have three vending spots onsite during the festival for attendees to purchase and enjoy.
To ensure a convenient commute for the R&S community, the festival has partnered with Alouette Bus Lines. They will arrange shuttle buses from North Bay to Fishers’ Paradise with a stop in Sturgeon Falls throughout the festival. The shuttles will be free of charge for attendees; the schedule will be made public shortly.
“I am beyond thrilled about working with Alouette Bus Lines,” Cassio added. “The transportation service they’re going to provide is a huge step towards R&S becoming more equitable — the socio-economic barrier to entry we have as a festival that operates in a rural area is something the board and I have been wanting to address. With this partnership, folks can easily come out for the day, experience the fest, and know they have a safe, free and reliable ride.”

Festival organizers would like to remind attendees about fire ban that will be in effect during the event. There will be no wood-burning fires permitted at this year’s R&S; portable gas and propane stoves are still permitted and will be used in lieu of fire pits/ cooking gear. We ask that all attendees plan accordingly, there will be a zero tolerance policy for wood-burning fires.
Additionally, River and Sky is offering free 2024 festival passes for post-festival tear-down volunteers. Whoever wishes to help organizers restore Fishers’ Paradise to its pre-festival condition will get access to this year’s fest, in addition to next year’s. That’s two festivals in exchange for nine volunteer hours. To sign up, volunteers can purchase a membership at showpass.com/riverandsky-2023.
