Plus, Alaska Airlines’ fall sale is now live with fares as low as $46 or 4,000 Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles. But that’s not all.

Airline loyalty program promotions (August 2024)

Airline loyalty programs can offer trip discounts on certain dates, the chance to earn more miles for future travel and deals to rack up points toward elite status. Below are some of the offers we found for August.

Targeted bonus Virgin points offer when you link accounts

For a limited time, partner programs Virgin Atlantic Flying Club and Virgin Red are offering 4,000 bonus points to targeted members for practically free — all you have to do is link your two accounts.

• Check your email to see if you’re targeted. If so, Virgin Atlantic will have sent you a promo code.
• Log in to your Virgin Red account (or create one, if needed). From there, link your Red account to your Flying Club account and enter your promo code under “My Account” by Aug. 30.
• You’ll then receive 4,000 bonus points in your Virgin Red account. You can redeem these for flights through Virgin Atlantic Flying Club or for various purchases like shopping, dining and entertainment through Virgin Red.

Double miles and award ticket discount on Japan Airlines flights

If you’re considering a trip to Japan for fall foliage or cherry blossom season, you’re in luck. Japan Airlines is offering up to a 50% discount on select award tickets this fall and next spring, as well as double miles earned on certain paid flights. Eligible flights are between Europe and Japan, so U.S.-based travelers may want to book a European stopover on their way to the Land of the Rising Sun.

• Both promotions apply to routes between Japan and the following European cities: London, Paris, Frankfurt and Helsinki.
• Get up to a 50% discount when you book an award ticket with Japan Airlines Mileage Bank miles. Eligible international award tickets (booked for economy class with base miles) can be booked at 50% to 70% of the standard price in miles. No registration is required; the discounted price will be displayed when booking eligible flights and classes of service on the following travel dates: Oct. 27 to Dec. 25 and Jan. 6 to Feb. 28.
• Earn double miles on paid flights with JL flight numbers taken between Oct. 27 and Feb. 28.

Hotel loyalty program promotions (August 2024)

Hotel loyalty programs occasionally offer discounted stays, ways to earn extra points and deals at various properties. We collected some of this month’s best deals below.

Bonus points at Accor hotels

Accor Live Limitless is an under-the-radar loyalty program that can offer surprising value to travelers — especially those visiting Europe and Asia or collecting Capital One miles or Citi ThankYou Rewards points, which can be transferred to ALL. With its latest promotion, Accor is helping members boost their points balance this fall.

• Earn bonus points when you spend at least two consecutive nights at one of Accor’s participating brands.
• Earn 2,500 bonus points per two-night stay at luxury and lifestyle brands, 1,500 bonus points at premium brands and 500 bonus points at economy brands. You can earn bonus points up to two times per brand category.
• Register here and book by Aug. 31. Complete your two-night minimum stay by Sept. 30.

Up to 35% off Ennismore’s Dis-loyalty program

If you’ve been intrigued by Ennismore’s unconventional ‘Dis-loyalty’ program, now is a great time to try it. Dis-loyalty is celebrating its one-year anniversary with discounts of up to 35% on your first year of membership.

• Purchase a one-year membership by Sept. 2 to get 25% off the current price if you pay monthly or 35% off the current price if you pay annually.

Unlimited bonus Hilton Honors points on 2024 stays

Hilton’s new “Power Up” promotion is a good one. You can earn 2,500 bonus Honors points per stay — with no earning cap — at all Hilton properties through the end of the year.

• Earn 2,500 bonus points for every stay completed between Sept. 3 and Dec. 31 at any hotel or resort within Hilton’s portfolio, including its new Small Luxury Hotels of the World collection. You can check in before Sept. 3 and still earn bonus points if you check out between Sept. 3 and Dec. 31.

Credit card promotions (August 2024)

Card issuers sometimes offer deals and discounts for certain cardholders on everything from airfare to restaurant dining. Here are some of the offers we’ve rounded up this week.

Targeted Chase Offer on Turo rental cars

Chase cardholders could save on their next car rental when they use Turo’s car-sharing service. We found this offer on the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card.

• Earn $30 cash back in the form of a statement credit when you spend at least $150 on Turo, including taxes and after any discounts.
• As with all Chase Offers, you must activate this offer and use your enrolled card to make the purchase to earn the credit. Payment must be made through the Turo site or app.
• This offer expires Nov. 7.

Targeted Chase Offer at Sandals and Beaches resorts

Dreaming of sun, sea and sand? This Chase Offer, which we found on the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card and the Chase Freedom Unlimited®, could help you save on your next island retreat.

• Earn $40 cash back on your Sandals or Beaches stay when you spend $400 or more in one purchase made directly with the merchant.
• As with all Chase Offers, you must activate this offer and use your enrolled card to make the purchase to earn the credit. Payment must be made through the Sandals or Beaches website.
• This offer expires Sept. 19.

Targeted American Express Offer at Fontainebleau Las Vegas

If Vegas is in your fall travel plans, check your Amex Offers. We found this one on The Platinum Card® from American Express and the American Express® Gold Card.

• Get a one-time $200 statement credit when you spend a minimum of $1,000 on one or more room rate and room charge purchases at Fontainebleau Las Vegas.
• As with all Amex Offers, you must register your card and use your registered eligible card to make the purchase to earn a credit. Book your stay directly through Fontainebleau Las Vegas.
• This offer expires Oct. 14.

Ongoing travel deals

• Enroll in a Sixt rental car status match with multiple airline and hotel program partners.
• Enroll in an Air France-KLM Flying Blue status match opportunity if you’re a resident of an eligible country (including the U.S., the U.K., Canada, Germany and Spain; others can be found here). Successful enrollment in the status match is contingent upon submitting an application, proving equivalent elite status in one of 18 eligible airline loyalty programs and paying a fee determined by your status match level. There is no publicly available end date for this promotion.
• Earn bonus World of Hyatt points for attending a virtual timeshare presentation. You must reside in an eligible U.S. state and meet an annual income requirement, among other requirements. You must request information to learn more about this promotion. There is no publicly available end date for this offer.
• Some IHG One Rewards members are being targeted for a promotion to earn 12,000 bonus points by staying twice in 60 days. There is no minimum night requirement as long as you spend $30 each stay. See if you’re eligible and register for the promotion here.
• Earn double Wyndham Rewards points at these new hotels. You don’t need to register for this promotion, and there is no published end date.
• Earn an extra 3,500 points for every stay of two or more nights at participating Marriott properties. No registration is required; just use promo code “M41” when booking and stay by Aug. 18.
• Get a 50% points bonus when you take one qualifying Singapore Airlines flight and opt to earn Virgin Australia Velocity points. Activate this offer by Aug. 21 and travel between Oct. 1 and March 31.
• Earn bonus Marriott Bonvoy points on select stays in the Middle East, Africa and participating European cities. Register for the deal and use promotional code “MR5.” Book by Aug. 22 for stays through Sept. 1.
• You can earn double or triple Accor Live Limitless points (depending on your status level) when you stay at least two nights at an Accor property across Paris and Ile-de-France. Be sure to activate this deal first, then book by Aug. 30 and stay by Sept. 30.
• Earn up to 10,000 Lufthansa Miles & More bonus miles on your Hertz rental. Book your car here by Aug. 31 and complete your rental by Oct. 31.
• Earn 24,000 bonus Marriott Bonvoy points for every qualifying stay of two-plus nights at a Homes & Villas by Marriott vacation rental. Plus, you’ll get 10% off at participating vacation rentals globally. Book by Aug. 31 and stay by Dec. 20 (blackout dates are Nov. 21 and 22). Registration is not required for this promotion.
• Earn 25,000 bonus Marriott Bonvoy points when you stay five or more nights at an all-inclusive resort through Vacations by Marriott Bonvoy. Book your stay by Aug. 31, and complete your stay by Jan. 31.
• Earn triple ANA Mileage Club miles (9 miles per dollar) when you stay at an IHG property through Aug. 31. Register for the promotion and set ANA Mileage Club miles as your point-earning preference.
• Earn bonus Marriott Bonvoy points when you stay at The Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho, a Luxury Collection Hotel. Use “M11,” the deal’s promotional code, at checkout. Book and stay by Aug. 31.

• Choice Privileges members in the U.S. and Canada can earn 8,000 Choice points for every two separate stays at participating Choice hotels. • Enjoy three months of complimentary Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status, which you can extend through February 2026 by staying three qualifying nights. Register by Sept. 30, then book your qualifying nights directly through Marriott and complete your stay before the end of your three-month period.
• Earn double World of Hyatt points (up to 25,000 points) when you stay at Hyatt Place and Hyatt House hotels. Register for this promotion by Sept. 15 and book and complete your stay by Oct. 15.
• Earn 250 bonus Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer miles when you join Marriott Bonvoy. Create your free Bonvoy account here by Oct. 18, and be sure to enter your KrisFlyer number and set your earning preference to KrisFlyer miles when you sign up.
• Earn bonus Hilton Honors points on car rentals with Alamo, Enterprise and National. Earn 1,000 bonus points on each qualifying rental of four or more days before Oct. 24, plus 500 points per day on rentals completed by Dec. 31. Reserve your car here.
