
Mesa Gateway Airport boasts new concourse; extensions, upgrades on way
Mesa Gateway Airport completed its new south concourse in 2024 and is set to add a runway extension, taxiway upgrades and a new baggage system.

JSX passengers flying from Scottsdale know something about changing airports.
The semiprivate carrier once operated out of a private terminal at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, but relocated to Scottsdale Airport in January 2024 for a variety of reasons.
Now, the JSX route from Scottsdale to the Rocky Mountains will fly to a new airport. JSX announced on July 2 that its Denver-area flights will switch to Centennial Airport, about 18 miles southeast of the Denver city center, in September.
JSX began flying between Phoenix and the Denver area in November 2022, using Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport in Broomfield, about 15 miles from Boulder and about 18 miles from Denver.
Does Centennial Airport have commercial flights?
Centennial Airport in Colorado, like the Scottsdale Airport, is not a commercial airport. It’s a general aviation airport that serves corporate jets, medevac and air ambulance services, flight schools and aerospace research, according to the airport’s website.
The airport generated about $2.4 billion in economic impact in 2023, the Colorado Department of Transportation said in its 2025 Airport Economic Impact Report.
When will JSX begin flying from Scottsdale to Centennial Airport?
The last JSX flight from Scottsdale to Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport will be on Sept. 9. JSX will begin flying from Scottsdale to Centennial Airport Sept. 10.
Current Denver-area ticketholders for Sept. 10 and beyond will be automatically rebooked for Centennial Airport. Those who do not wish to fly out of Centennial Airport can receive a full refund, according to JSX.
The Denver area is not the only place where JSX is repositioning flights.
It plans to move its flights out of Boca Raton, Florida, to Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport in August, citing the upcoming demolition of its facility at Atlantic Aviation at Boca Raton Airport.

Is JSX considered private?
JSX is a semiprivate public charter that uses jets with 30 business-class seats and a check-in process praised by flyers for its convenience and speed. Flyers do not have to check in until 20 minutes before departure.
Although JSX rejects the categorization as an airline, Travel + Leisure named JSX the No. 1 airline in its 2024 World’s Best Awards survey.
How much does it cost to fly JSX?
JSX flights between Scottsdale and Centennial Airport in Colorado start at $375 one way.
Fares include two checked bags, gourmet snacks, cocktails and Starlink internet.
